Tata Elxsi<\/a> on Thursday announced the launch of DevStudio.ai<\/a>, a multi-agent generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) platform designed to accelerate the automotive software development<\/a> lifecycle (SDLC) for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), system suppliers and semiconductor companies. <\/p>\n

The platform is aligned with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) standards and is built to support collaboration between engineers and AI across multiple stages of automotive software development<\/a>. According to the company’s regulatory filing, DevStudio.ai<\/a> can operate on both cloud-based infrastructure and air-gapped on-premise environments, giving enterprises flexibility to deploy the solution in line with their internal AI and security policies. <\/p>\n

Unlike many generative AI tools developed for general-purpose software development, DevStudio.ai has been purpose-built specifically for the automotive sector, the company said in a sttaement. The platform combines Tata Elxsi\u2019s automotive domain expertise with generative AI capabilities to address the complexity, safety requirements and compliance standards involved in developing automotive-grade software. <\/p>\n

The platform supports the full ASPICE V-cycle, including system and software requirements, architecture design, implementation, testing and qualification, while maintaining end-to-end traceability throughout the engineering lifecycle. It can also integrate with existing engineering toolchains used by OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers, allowing development teams to embed AI-powered co-engineers directly into their current workflows.<\/p>\n

Sundar Ganapathi, Chief Technology Officer \u2013 Automotive at Tata Elxsi, said the automotive sector is undergoing rapid transformation as companies face pressure to accelerate software development while maintaining stringent quality standards. DevStudio.ai, he said, brings generative AI into the automotive engineering lifecycle, enabling OEMs and suppliers to speed up development while preserving safety and compliance requirements for critical vehicle systems. <\/p>\n

The platform is already being deployed in select programmes with global OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers across North America, Japan and India. Early implementations across domains such as body electronics, chassis systems, infotainment and software-defined vehicle (SDV) architectures have shown improvements in productivity and time-to-market, the company said. <\/p>\n

Tata Elxsi, part of the Tata Group, provides design and technology services across sectors including automotive, communications, healthcare and transportation, with a strong focus on autonomous, electric, connected and software-defined vehicles. <\/p>\n
