border.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Victoria Police said about 120 kilograms of pseudoephedrine was found concealed underneath the floorboards of a shipping container.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Australian Border Force officials detected the substances in Melbourne on January 23 and notified Victoria Police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The pseudoephedrine was seized and replaced with an inert substance<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Pseudoephedrine is an illegal substance and a main ingredient in the manufacture of methylamphetamine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">On Saturday, police were notified that the consignment had been recently collected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Mildura&#8217;s Divisional Response Unit then attended an address in Euston in New South Wales.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Two men at the address fled on foot, but were taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">A 38-year-old man and a 50-year-old man from Robinvale were both charged with attempting to import a border-controlled drug and attempting to traffic a large commercial quantity drug of dependence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">They were remanded to face the Melbourne Magistrates&#8217; Court in June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Mildura Police Detective Senior Sergeant Liam Tinkler said the pseudoephedrine would have been made into illicit drugs to sell on the streets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;We have stopped ill-gotten gains from reaching the pockets of those involved in this insidious venture,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Organised criminals distribute these harmful substances anywhere they see fit to make a profit, knowing full well the harm these drugs cause to our community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;We&#8217;ve made no secret of the fact that Victoria Police is determined to make this state a hostile place for organised crime, and in particular those who are engaged in the manufacture and importation of drugs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;We will continue to work with our partner agencies to ensure those involved in this kind of criminal activity will be caught and held to account.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">On Monday a further three search warrants were executed at homes in Robinvale in Victoria and Euston, where a pump-action shotgun was also
