DETROIT, Mich. (WILX) – On Feb. 27, 1902, Detroit put its foot on the proverbial gas pedal.<\/p>\n

The first Detroit Automobile Show roared into life at the Light Guard Armory. <\/p>\n

It was organized by the Detroit Auto Dealers Association, a group of industry pioneers and enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

The event launched the motor city into the future 124 years ago when crowds marveled at the \u201chorseless carriages.\u201d<\/p>\n
