Indiana Tech’s women wasted no time asserting their dominance over their first-round opponent in the WHAC tournament.<\/p>\n

The top-seeded Warriors outscored Cornerstone 25-4 in the first quarter before taking a 50-13 lead at halftime.<\/p>\n

Indiana Tech cruised to the 97-45 victory, led by 28 points from Taylor Covington and 16 from Gabby Richie.<\/p>\n

The Warriors advance to the WHAC tournament semifinals against fifth-seeded Siena Heights.<\/p>\n

That game will be played at 6pm Friday inside Indiana Tech’s Schaefer Center.<\/p>\n

In the Crossroads League, the men’s tournament tipped off Wednesday evening across the state of Indiana.<\/p>\n

The women’s first round played out the day before, with the top two seeds advancing, but No. 3 Spring Arbor and No. 4 Huntington each falling on their home court.<\/p>\n

In the men’s first round, each of the top four seeds defended home court to advance to the semi-finals.<\/p>\n

Huntington’s men brought the energy back into Platt Arena, taking down Mount Vernon Nazarene 85-68.<\/p>\n

Kaden Johnson led the way with a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double for the Foresters.<\/p>\n

Landon Biegel added 18 off the bench thanks in part to five three-pointers, and Churubusco grad Jackson Paul added 11 points and four assists.<\/p>\n

Top-seeded Grace – ranked No. 2 in the nation – took care of business against Spring Arbor, and second-seeded Indiana Wesleyan – ranked No. 4 nationally – had no trouble getting past Saint Francis.<\/p>\n

Recent Manchester grad and current Lancers freshman Gavin Betten led Grace with 24 points in their first-round victory.<\/p>\n

Indiana Wesleyan and Bethel are the only Crossroads League schools to have both their men’s and women’s teams advance into the conference tournament quarterfinals.<\/p>\n

The Crossroads League men’s tournament resumes Saturday, with the women picking back up the day before.<\/p>\n
