MISSISSAUGA \u2014 Cargojet Inc. says its net earnings reached $26.6 million in the fourth quarter, down from $71.2 million during the same period a year earlier. <\/p>\n

The company says the decline in net earnings was mainly driven by an increase of $37.7 million in net finance costs. <\/p>\n

Diluted earnings per share came in at $1.76, down from $4.28 during the prior-year quarter. <\/p>\n

The Mississauga, Ont.-based company says its total revenue was $284.7 million during the period ended Dec. 31, down year over year from $293.2 million. <\/p>\n

Cargojet also raised its dividend by about 10 per cent to 38.5 cents per share. <\/p>\n

CEO Pauline Dhillon says the company achieved a 99 per cent on-time performance, despite facing one of the most challenging winter operating environments in recent years. <\/p>\n
