McLaren wins Alan Jay Automotive Network 120

SEBRING — Little did anyone know it, but qualifying for Friday’s Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 took on quite a bit of added importance. A 10-car pile-up near the back of the GS field at the start of the Michelin Pilot Challenge race left eight cars unable to continue.

One of those cars who escaped the opening-lap melee was the No. 44 Ibiza Farm Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4, which cruised to a 2.506-second victory over the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4. The McLaren moved into the lead when Kiko Porto took the No. 12 RAFA Racing Toyota into the pits with 32 minutes remaining and driver Michael Cooper never looked back.
