Passengers had to evacuate a plane at Logan International Airport on Tuesday to allow firefighters to take a peek in the cargo area after a possible issue was flagged, officials said.

“After landing a Republic Airways plane reported an issue in the cargo hold,” said a spokesperson for Massport, which runs Logan, in a statement around 12:30 p.m.

“The plane is now at the gate, and all the passengers are off the plane with no reported injuries,” the statement said. “Massport Fire investigated and found no issues.”

It wasn’t immediately clear when the passengers will be able to continue on with their journey.
