ITS giant Quarterhill will present a suite of commercial vehicle enforcement, tolling, and roadway intelligence technologies at Intertraffic Amsterdam 2026, taking place this week, 10-13 March at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre. The company will exhibit at stand 01.116.
The showcase centres on how Quarterhill’s sensing, screening, enforcement software, and data platforms can be combined into a single coordinated system — allowing transportation agencies to identify potential violations in motion, target inspections more efficiently, and improve compliance outcomes without disrupting traffic flow.
Virtual weigh stations and direct enforcement
Among the headline products on display is Virtual Weight Station (VWS) 2.0, described as building on the company’s first-to-market virtual weigh station technology. The web-based platform is designed to enable agencies to identify potential commercial vehicle violations in real time without the need for permanent roadside inspection facilities.
Complementing this is Direct Enforcement, which uses in-lane detection technology to allow agencies to identify and cite overweight vehicles in real time. The system is designed to work within evolving legislative frameworks and is intended to protect bridges, pavements, and freight corridors without increasing operational burden.
Sensing and portal technologies
Quarterhill will also exhibit SensorLine fibre-optic sensing, delivering axle-level vehicle detection and classification — including count, direction, and spacing. The technology provides real-time data inputs intended to enhance compliance monitoring and inspection targeting.
The RedFox Multi-Sensor Vehicle Portal, aimed at ports, borders, and tolling environments, integrates LiDAR, imaging, and above-ground axle detection. The company says RedFox improves vehicle screening accuracy while reducing installation complexity compared to traditional in-road sensing systems.
Analytics and tolling back office
The Icoms Analytics Platform is a cloud-based environment designed to unify roadside sensing and enforcement technologies into a single operational view. The portfolio includes the TMB Series radar detection platform, which supports multilane traffic monitoring, intersection analytics, and near real-time data insights.
Rounding out the display is Quarterhill’s AI-enabled Tolling Back Office solution, designed to handle routine customer inquiries and route more complex issues to human agents, with the aim of modernising customer service workflows for tolling agencies.
“As transportation networks become more complex, agencies are adopting smarter technologies across enforcement, traffic monitoring, and tolling operations to better protect infrastructure, improve safety, and manage growing freight volumes while supporting long-term transportation sustainability,” says Chuck Myers, chief executive officer at Quarterhill. “We are proud to showcase integrated enforcement systems that allow agencies to shift from reactive inspections to proactive, data-driven compliance, alongside new digital tools to help modernise tolling operations and customer service for drivers.”
Quarterhill representatives will be available for media briefings and product demonstrations throughout the event.
