Goodwill Industries of Michiana celebrates automotive academy graduates

Goodwill Industries of Michiana celebrated 12 graduating students form its Academy Automotive program on Friday.

The Academy Automotive program is designed for people with no experience to receive free, high quality training that will prepare them for industry careers in St. Joseph County.

Participants can earn entry level certifications.

Upon completion, graduates are guaranteed an interview with the Gurley Leep Automotive Family.

To date, 16 program graduates have been hired.

Goodwill Industries of Michiana CEO and President Debie Coble said, “First of all, our mission is to empower people to live their most abundant life. And so what we know with that is we have to help folks understand the world of work if they’ve not had a lot of exposure to that. But we also need to help them to get skills that they can thrive in our community.”
