HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A shipping barge belonging to freight company Young Brothers was delayed Tuesday due to weather conditions.
Ha’aheo, the barge, was scheduled to arrive at the Port of Kawaihae by Tuesday morning.
Due to “severe ocean conditions caused by near-gale force winds,” the cargo’s arrival was delayed, said Young Brothers in a letter to customers.
The port extended its gate hours until 5 p.m. for customer convenience. Only straightload containers, or those that can be collected without extra handling, will be available for pickup.
Dry and refrigerated straightload containers, as well as vehicles and roll-on/roll-off cargo, are available upon notification.
Dry palletized and mixed cargo may be picked up Wednesday at 7:30 a.m.
Refrigerated palletized and loose cargo will be available for collection starting at 8 a.m.
Visit the Young Brothers’ website for more information on sailing schedules and cargo availability.
