The global civil aviation industry accounts for nearly 2.5 per cent of global carbon emissions, with fuel burn from aircraft contributing 80 per cent of emissions. As the world across industries works on net zero emission targets, the aviation industry is also gearing up for the same.
One of the foremost measures is the implementation of International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO’s) Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation or CORSIA framework, which mandates use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
