No injuries reported after CSX freight train derails in Fulton County

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Part of a CSX freight train has derailed in Palmetto on Friday morning, according to the company.

Six cars came off the tracks near Wilkerson Road and Roosevelt Highway at around 2:20 a.m., according to CSX. No injuries have been reported, and the cars weren’t carrying any hazardous materials.

CSX crews are currently working to clean up the site. Fulton County Emergency Communications also responded to the scene.

The cause of the derailment is currently under investigation.
