The Ugreen NeoDrive Go is a new card-sized portable SSD that taps into USB4 for fast transfers of up to 3,800 MB/s. It packs 1TB of storage, a built-in USB cable that doubles as a lanyard, and 7-foot drop protection, but it comes at a premium.

Ugreen is expanding its storage lineup in 2026 once again with a new USB4 portable SSD. To recap, the company recently debuted AI-powered NAS devices at CES 2026 and already sells a 1TB hard drive in the US along with several NVMe enclosures, including an 80 Gbps Thunderbolt 5 model. Now, it has added the NeoDrive Go, an external SSD housed in a credit-card-sized chassis.

Specifically, the NeoDrive Go measures 3.46 x 2.16 x 0.47 inches and weighs 2.46 ounces, roughly the same as AirPods Pro. Despite its lightweight profile, it still promises solid durability with up to 7 feet of drop protection, thanks to a tough excimer-coated body. It also features a built-in 5.4-inch braided USB4 cable that doubles as a lanyard for easy carrying.

With USB4, the SSD supports transfer speeds of up to 3,800 MB/s. To hit those numbers, users will need a laptop or PC with at least a Thunderbolt 3 or USB4 port, though the drive should still work with any USB-C device or even a smartphone at lower speeds. According to Ugreen, the SSD can plug directly into iPhones for 4K/120 fps ProRes video recording, and the 1TB capacity should offer plenty of room for large video files.

The Ugreen NeoDrive Go 1TB portable SSD is now available to purchase in the US through Amazon for a steep $499.99. That makes it a lot pricier than similar USB4 portable drives like the 1TB Corsair EX400U Survivor (curr: $164.99 at Amazon) and even the 2TB SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD (curr: $419.99 at Amazon).
