KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has entered into a significant cargo-sharing agreement with the global aviation group Air France-KLM, marking a major expansion of the national carrier’s international freight capabilities.
The cargo partnership agreement, which came into effect on January 15, will provide PIA Cargo access to Air France-KLM’s extensive worldwide network, according to a PIA spokesperson.
Under the terms of the agreement, Pakistani exporters will be able to ship their products using a single air waybill across both PIA and Air France-KLM networks, streamlining the export process and improving access to international markets.
PIA Cargo will connect to the Air France-KLM network through Dubai, Riyadh, or Dammam. The partnership opens up key European destinations including Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Düsseldorf to Pakistani exporters.
The agreement also extends PIA’s reach to major American cities, with New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles now accessible through the shared network, PIA said.
